Superintendent Candidate Announcement

Greetings to the Fellowship of Churches of the ECCC,

For the past four months, the Leadership Board of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Canada (ECCC), acting as the search committee for the new President/Superintendent of the ECCC, has been prayerfully working through the process of discerning who will be the next person to lead the ministry of the Canada Covenant Conference.

After much prayer and discernment, we are pleased to announce that Glenn Peterson has been nominated to fill this role and has been approved by the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) executive board.

The next step in the process is a vote of the delegates for approval at the ECCC annual meeting to be held the first weekend in May. If approved at the ECCC annual meeting, Glenn shall be installed as President/Superintendent at the annual meeting of the ECC in June 2018 and will transition into the new role in the summer of 2018.

Through this process many of you have given input, provided nominations and conveyed to us that you were praying for God’s leading throughout the process. Thank you for your involvement and your commitment to the ministry of the ECCC. Although it has not been finalized, we prayerfully anticipate the process to move forward and invite you to pray for those who will be directly impacted by the changes ahead. Please remember in your prayers,

  • Glenn, his wife Bekah, and their four children as they consider the transition ahead,
  • Hope Community Covenant Church in Strathmore, where Glenn currently pastors, as they discern and plan for the season of change ahead.

May we move forward with much peace and hope as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Peace and Hope,

Terence Barg
