Spring Appeal 2026

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:15-16

Dear Covenant Friends,

The resurrection changes everything. This spring, I find myself freshly grateful that we share this hope together — that Christ is alive, that he is present with us through the Holy Spirit, and that his love is at work in and through the Canada Covenant family.

This year, the Canada Covenant is gathering around a single, simple question: what does it look like to grow more and more into the likeness of Christ? Our theme for 2026/2027 is Moved by Love and Growing in Christ and is an invitation to go deeper; to make and mature disciples who are not just “busy” for Jesus, but genuinely formed by him.

Investing in discipleship is not new for the Canada Covenant. For decades, through Covenant Bible College, Bible camps, global engagement, leadership retreats, and local church programming, the Canada Covenant has walked alongside believers as they grow into mature followers of Christ. Ephesians 4 has long captured our calling: that the whole body would be healthy, growing, and full of love. This work continues, and if anything, the pressures and distractions of our world make it more urgent than ever.

This spring, I am inviting you to partner with us in two discipleship initiatives — one that is already bearing real fruit, and one we believe holds great promise for the road ahead.

The Internship Grant Program
Across our conference, local Covenant churches are offering ministry internships to individuals hungry to grow in their faith and calling. The Canada Covenant invests $1,000 per intern per month, up to eight months a year, to help churches start and sustain their internship initiatives. When I visit these churches and sit with these interns, I am consistently moved by what I see — people being formed, not just trained. Your gift would help make it possible for churches to host, train, and empower interns. Our hope is to see more churches take the step of investing in the next generation this way.

Discipleship Resources for our Conference
This year, I will travel across Canada, hosting discipleship forums with pastors and leaders to share honestly about what is working, what is challenging, and what Canada Covenant churches most need as they seek to disciple people to grow more like Christ. Your support will help cover the cost of these forums and fund the development of digital and printed discipleship resources that will serve Covenant churches from coast to coast.

I am so excited to share that your contribution will be doubled. A group of generous Covenant donors has committed to match every gift received this spring, dollar for dollar. Whatever you give to this year’s Spring Appeal will be doubled - and no gift is too small. This is a remarkable expression of generosity, and it means your contribution will go twice as far in supporting both the internship program and the discipleship forums and resources we are developing together.

Thank you for prayerfully considering this invitation. Your gift beautifully reflects the partnership we share in this work together. To give, please follow the instructions on the enclosed card. It is my sincere honour to serve alongside you.

Moved by Love and Growing in Christ,

Rob Peterson
President/Superintendent, The Evangelical Covenant Church of Canada
