On November 6, a group of Canadian Covenanters will be travelling to Ecuador, one of the Canada Covenants Regional Partners. As this group prepares for the trip, we want to express our care and commitment to the work God is doing in Ecuador, specifically by making a financial gift to The Santiago Partnership, and we want to invite you to partner with us.
At 24 years old, Germán faced a life-changing challenge: two months ago, he was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in the amputation of his left leg. After receiving medical care in Quito, he was referred to physical therapy as part of his recovery.
Germán began therapy at the General Hospital of Ibarra, but insurance-based appointments were unavailable. Determined to continue his rehabilitation, he followed his employer's recommendation and came to the Santiago Medical Clinic.
Despite the significant pain he was experiencing, Germán says he felt encouraged from the moment he arrived. A caring team welcomed him, and he began working closely with a physical therapist who provided excellent support throughout his recovery.
Today, after completing nine therapy sessions, Germán is already seeing progress. He is regaining mobility, building stability, and taking important steps toward independence. While he knows there is still a road ahead, he remains hopeful and confident.
With faith in God and gratitude for the care he has received, Germán believes he will continue to grow stronger each day and looks forward to returning to the routines and activities he once enjoyed. His story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the life-changing impact of compassionate rehabilitation care.
